Dr Kate Neale
Writer | Cornish Music & Heritage | Lowtide Wanderer
Kate Neale grew up at Porthcothan Bay on the north coast of Cornwall. After college she took two gap years before heading to Cardiff University to study a BA in English Literature and Music, and then an MA in Ethnomusicology. She took another break from university, coming back to Cornwall and working as a copywriter at Idenna, a creative media agency, for two years.
After a 1000 mile cycle tour through Spain and Portugal, she moved to London in 2014. Later that year she won full funding to pursue her PhD into Cornish Christmas carolling traditions in South Australia and California, which she completed in Cornwall in September 2018.
Now returning to work at Idenna, Kate is also a writer, teacher, surfer and Cornish learner.
